Fishing Rules 'Grand Lac de Roly'

Please take a moment to review the rules below, designed to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for both anglers and the care of our beloved fish stock.
Any member of our crew has the right to immediately remove any angler or visitor who does not respect the regulations stated below, without any refund, reservation fee and/or deposit.

Fishing Rules

Rod Limits and Predator Fishing:

  • Each angler is allowed to fish with up to 3 rods by default. A fourth rod or predator fishing can be added for an additional €50 per week, which must be arranged at the time of booking.

  • For predator fishing, specific regulations apply:

    • Use only lures, no live or dead bait

    • Barbless or flattened barbs only.

    • Maximum of 2 hooks (double hooks allowed, no triples).

    • Braided line is permitted.

    • Fish only from your designated spot on the bank.

    • No fishing from boats.

    • Catch and Release is mandatory

Fishing Zones and Behavior

  • You are required to fish within the designated zones as shown on the venue map. If there is any dispute with fellow anglers, contact Pieter immediately.

  • While fishing, you must stay near your rods at all times, and you must mark your maximum fishing distance using marker elastic.

  • Walking is allowed only on the designated paths around the lake; access to the forest and other lakes is strictly private.

  • It is forbidden to damage or cut vegetation around the lake.

Tackle Regulations

  • Only barbless hooks, flattened barbs, or micro-barbless hooks are permitted (sizes 2-8). Braided main lines are not allowed; nylon lines must be at least 35/00 in thickness.

  • Leaders and leadcore are only allowed with helicopter systems that ensure fish safety in case of line breakage. Tubing (min 40cm) is mandatory unless using a helicopter leader.

  • Fixed lead systems must be set up so that carp can easily shed the lead in case of a snag.

  • Fishing at or below the surface (floating) is not allowed.

Fish Care

  • Only small-mesh landing nets (max 1.5cm) and large, thick unhooking mats (min dimensions 110x50x5cm) are allowed. Always place the mat upside down until you've caught a fish. Ensure you have a filled water bucket and a bottle of disinfectant next to the unhooking mat.

  • Unhook fish before lifting them from the water, and handle fish carefully—at temperatures above 24°C, all handling must occur in the water.

  • Retainer bags are prohibited; retainer slings can be used for a maximum of 20 minutes before releasing the carp.

Additional Rules

  • Bait boats and regular boats are permitted, but wearing a life jacket is mandatory when using a boat.

  • Swimming in the lake is strictly prohibited.

  • Bait restrictions apply: Only soaked and boiled particles are allowed. Tiger nuts are prohibited unless purchased on-site (max 5L per angler). Peanuts are also prohibited.

  • Cleanliness at your fishing peg is crucial: Keep the area tidy, use an ashtray if you smoke, and take your waste home. If you prefer, a waste service is available for a fee.

  • No visitors are allowed on the site; only anglers and their pre-booked non-fishing partners may enter.

  • Vehicles should only be used for loading/unloading and must be parked in designated areas. Swims 7 and 8 allow parking next to the peg, while other swims may require a short walk from the parking area.
